MANITOU AUSTRALIA: Project Manager - Defence & Key Accounts - SALES

Position Overview

The position will be responsible for managing Defence and Key Account Projects throughout the life cycle of the project, inclusive of tender bid development to through life sustainment activities. The purpose of this role is to ensure all project milestones are delivered on time, within budget and customer satisfaction is maximized. This role will work in conjunction with the Fleet and Key Account Managers along with various other stakeholders within the organisation.


Support business development opportunities within Defence and Key Accounts

  •  Assist Fleet and Key Account Managers with business development opportunities within the Defence, Fleet and Key Account market segment. This may include attending events, meetings and other networking opportunities to help gain industry intelligence and create tender submission opportunities.
  • Verify technical concept to ensure our offer meet the customer expectations

 Coordinate Tender Bid & Contract Development Process

  •  Responsible for coordinating and assisting Fleet and Key Account Managers with tender bid development.
  • Coordinate and manage contract negotiation processes.

 Manage Contract Deliverables

  •  Effectively manage contract delivery schedules (including coordinating steering committee activities and managing contract progress meetings etc).
  • Coordinate and Manage Defence and Key account contract deliverables including coordinating machine preparation  with dealer network, (PDI and local build requirements, Integrated Logistic Support deliverables) and customer hand over process (registrations, Operator Familiarization Training etc).
  • Source local content from suppliers in line with Group sourcing guidelines.

 Internal Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders including Dealer Network, Manitou Australia, Head Office and various production units in order to ensure effective contract delivery and through life support activities.

Customer Relationship Management

  •  Develop and maintain effective relationships with customer user groups, prime contractors, key account and defence customers to ensure effective contract delivery and through life support activities.

 QHSE Compliance & Development

  • Coordinate and assist MC Sydney and MAU Management team with the development and implementation of a Quality System.

Education and experience

  • Good general knowledge of Materials Handling Equipment and willingness to learn Manitou products
  • Strong technical skills in the area of material handling or construction machinery
  • Experience in Defence and Fleet Procurement activities
  • Ability to connect, communicate and build lasting relationships with customers
  • Operator familiarization training package development and delivery
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Exposure to liaising with persons whom English is a second language on technical and commercial matters.
  • Must have rights to work in Australia.

Position Overview

The Workshop Technician’s  main role will be to undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake pre-delivery inspections and modification on new machine.

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation according to manufacturer requirements &. Performs diagnostic procedures to locate causes of faults.

  • Installs & repairs electrical apparatus, such as EWP wiring and associated components. Including adjustment & repair of electronic components such as PCB control cards.

  • Calibrates equipment using electronic aids & procedures & programmable controllers.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts & components.

  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices & equipment.

  • Use Manitou systems and tools to log job status, report, consult documentation, escalate issues… etc

The successful applicants will  

  • Must have a one year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Work experience in customer support

  • Forklift licence desirable

  • Current drivers license an advantage

  • Current EWP High Risk License an advantage

  • Telehandler Gold Card an advantage.

MANITOU CENTER SYDNEY: Field Service Mechanic/Technician - SERVICE


Position Overview

The Field Service Technician’s main role will be to undertake repairs and maintain equipment such as Telescopic Handlers, Elevating Work Platforms, Rough Terrain/Industrial Forklifts  & Skid/Track/Articulated Loaders whilst in the Field.

Main Responsibilities

  • Effectively complete preventative maintenance & repairs to OEM standards
  • Ensure on site safety principles and standards are adhered to at all times
  •  Must be able to carry out diagnostic analysis, mechanical and technical repairs as directed on all variations of mobile equipment.
  •  Must be able to work in a supportive team environment
  •  Work overtime when required

Position Overview

The Sales Representative is a key position in developing Equipment and associated services Sales and market share for the Manitou Center.

Key objective to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively offering the company’s products and related services. Personally contact and secure new business accounts/customers.

The position reports directly to the General Manager Manitou Center.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contact and maintain contact in person and electronically with new and existing customers to build a business relationship that generates sales in line with KPIs set by the Company.
  • Maintain accurate customer and prospect records of all visits, contacts and quotes in the CRM system (Salesforce). 
  • Outbound prospect new customers within your designated sales territory or where instructed using a range of sales techniques including cold calling, referral, networking to obtain sales opportunities.
  • Actively promote the full services and products offered by Manitou Center and systematically include related services in quotations
  • Accurately quote, tender and negotiate for equipment sales as per the Sales department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate New, and Used equipment to prospects effectively to maximise the potential of concluding a sale.
  • Complete all relevant sales documentation to process, build up, settle and complete a sale in line with Sales Department policies and procedures. 
  • Deliver, hand over and demonstrate sold or hired equipment to customers as required
  • Provide trade-in evaluations if and when requested
  • Ensure ongoing training requirements are met in order to:
    • Understand the products we sell, 
    • Understand the competitors’ products, 
    • Understand appropriate attachments, 
    • Maintain sales knowledge and competency
    • Participate in Sales Department activities that arise from time to time such as yard changes, trade or agricultural shows and exhibitions, some of which occur outside of regular trading hours
